چکیده مقاله

Metal–organic frameworks are a class of highly crystalline hybrid materials that have received considerable attention due to their potential applications in different areas. The molecular recognition and sensing of small molecules pollutants by MOFs has gained the attention of researchers around the world. Herein, a new pillared-layer zinc-organic framework (CFU-1) is introduced which has been synthesized via a combination of 4,4´-oxybis(benzoic acid) (H2OBA) and 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane (BPP) ligands. The structure of this framework has been determined by X-ray crystallography, FT-IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The structural features of this MOF as well as its stability and porosity were studied. The potential of the framework was examined for sensing nitro-analytes such as nitrobenzene (NB), 1,3-dinitrobenzene (DNB) and 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT). The framework stability during the chemo-sensing experiment was studied using the powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). Our study reveals the potential of CFU-1 in the molecular recognition of nitroaromatics. © 2021
