چکیده مقاله
In recent decades, several types of biosensors have been developed for different biomedical, pharmaceutical, and environmental applications such as detection of pathogenic organisms, diagnosis infectious disease, food quality assessment, and environmental monitoring. Although considerable advancements have been achieved in the field of biosensors during the last decades, the increasing need for the development of more accrue and precise technologies is a driving force for the progress of photoelectrochemical enzymatic biosensors that convert chemical energy to electricity under light illumination and applied potential. Photoactive materials are able to produce electron-hole pair by adsorption of photons. Various photoactive materials possess special interest for applying in the construction of photoelectrochemical sensors such as metal oxides, nanoparticles, and quantum dots. This chapter describes the principles of enzymatic photoelectrochemical biosensors and summarizes recent advances in potential applications in various fields. © 2023 Elsevier Inc.
