چکیده مقاله

The purpose of this investigation was to examine the relationship of sleep quality and physical activity with academic achievement among children who have developmental coordination disorder. The research is descriptive- correlational in nature. The population of children with developmental coordination disorder in Ahvaz city was targeted in 2022, and 142 individuals were selected using G*Power software. The research tools consisted of the Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ), Physical Activity Questionnaire for Children (PAQ-C), Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionaire (DCDQ), and Children’s Perceived Academic Self-Efficacy Inventory (CPASEI). The structural model of the investigation was developed using AMOS18 software, and data analysis was conducted using Spss 25. The findings indicated that there is a positive and significant correlation between academic achievement and sleep quality, as well as between academic achievement and physical activity (P=0.001). Moreover, the findings indicated that the quality of sleep is significantly influenced by physical activity (P=0.001). The correlation between sleep quality and physical activity level was r=0.248. The regression results indicated a significant relationship between physical activity, sleep quality and academic achievement (P=0.001). In this way, the quality of slumber affects academic achievement indirectly (R coefficient=0.74; the net effect of physical activity: 0.16). The path analysis test results indicated that variations in academic achievement can be predicted by physical activity and sleep quality (P=0.001). It has been determined that the academic success of children with developmental coordination disorder will be influenced by their physical activity and subsequent sleep quality. © 2026, null.
