Communication - Co-electrodeposition of Ni/SiO₂(CH₂)₃SH composite: Modified Guglielmi’s model and mechanism of nucleation

This work studies the influence of surface modification of silica nanoparticles by mercaptopropyl trimethoxysilane on silica weight percent in Ni coating during electrodeposition. Results showed SiO₂(CH₂)₃SH particles were embedded in the Ni coating up to 11%. Also, modified Guglielmi’s model and mechanicsm of nucleation of Ni-SiO₂(CH₂)₃SH composite were studied. © 2017 The Electrochemical Society. All rights reserved.
