چکیده مقاله
This chapter explores the development of biogas-to-electricity in Asia and the Middle East and North Africa region, highlighting the challenges and opportunities within the context of renewable energy. The region's rich cultural and historical tapestry is juxtaposed with its current socio-economic and environmental shifts, emphasizing the strategic importance of its natural resources. The focus on renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and biogas is crucial for sustainable development and climate change mitigation. The chapter discusses the potential of biogas technology to transform organic waste into fuel gas, consequently addressing waste management and energy challenges. Obstacles, including infrastructural requirements, technology impediments, and initial investments, are also highlighted. The importance of biogas in ensuring humankind's sustainability is reaffirmed, and a practical strategy to waste management and energy production that supports both economic growth and sustainable development goals is urged. In order to ensure the energy security and sustainability of the region, the story deftly navigates the difficulties of energy demand, regulation, and the integration of renewables. It does this by putting forth a multimodal strategy that strikes a balance between environmental sustainability and economic prosperity. © 2026 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
