چکیده مقاله
High carbon emissions are a key contributor to global climate change in today's industrialized world. This phenomenon leads to rising temperatures, increased levels of carbon dioxide, changes in rainfall patterns, and the salinization of water and soil, resulting in land degradation. Such environmental changes make human communities more vulnerable, affecting food security, disrupting ecosystems, and heightening the risks of desertification and dust storms. To survive, these communities must adapt to the changing climate. Haloculture, an ancient practice adapted over centuries by societies living in saline conditions, stands out as a vital approach for tackling these socioeconomic and ecological challenges. This chapter delves into the impacts of climate change, identifies regions where haloculture can be beneficial, explores its environmental effects, and discusses how it supports climate change adaptation and mitigates adverse impacts, also discusses education strategies with pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) approaches to expand haloculture. © 2026 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.
