Strongly sum 2-irreducible submodules of a module

Let R be a commutative ring with identity and M be an R-module. A non-zero submodule N of M is said to be a sum 2-irreducible submodule if whenever N= H₁+ H₂+ H₃ for submodules H₁, H₂ and H₃ of M, then either N= H₁+ H₂ or N= H₂+ H₃ or N= H₁+ H₃. In this paper, we will introduce the concept of strongly sum 2-irreducible submodules of M as a generalization of sum 2-irreducible submodules of M and obtain some related results. © 2021, Instituto de Matemática e Estatística da Universidade de São Paulo.
